I am Xichen Sun
I am an Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management in the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management, Tilburg School of Economics and Management.
Motivated by my work experience, my research has a strong focus on practical and relevant operational issues. My research lies at the intersection of service operations and sustainable operations, emphasizing the alignment of companies’ economic and environmental goals via various industrial endeavors. My work applies a broad set of methodological skills, including game theory, econometrics, empirically grounded analytics, system dynamics modeling, and grounded theory.
I am also actively involved in teaching and services. I taught Operations Management courses at Mays Business School and currently teach Supply Chain Design and Planning and Data-Driven Design Approaches at Tilburg School of Economics and Management. I co-founded BV Startup, a Texas 4-H club that facilitates positive youth development in communication, leadership, and teamwork skills through various entrepreneurial activities. I am also a Community Partner of Texas Youth Action Network. I am passionate about teaching and developing the next generation of business leaders.
