HOWDY!
I am Xichen Sun

I am an Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management in the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management, Tilburg School of Economics and Management.

Xichen’s research lies at the intersection of service and sustainable operations, with a particular focus on process theory development in servitization, circular economy transitions, and supply chain decarbonization. His work examines how firms align economic and environmental goals during complex organizational and industry transformations. Methodologically, he integrates game theory, econometrics, system dynamics modeling, qualitative meta-analysis, and grounded theory to build rigorous and evidence-based process explanations. His research has been published in leading international journals, including Journal of Operations Management, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, and System Dynamics Review.

I am also actively involved in teaching and services. I taught Operations Management courses at Mays Business School and currently teach Supply Chain Design and Planning and Data-Driven Design Approaches at Tilburg School of Economics and Management. I co-founded BV Startup, a Texas 4-H club that facilitates positive youth development in communication, leadership, and teamwork skills through various entrepreneurial activities. I am also a Community Partner of Texas Youth Action Network. I am passionate about teaching and developing the next generation of business leaders.
